Despite industry turbulence from Enron’s collapse and 9/11, CES expanded MarketIQ into new markets, built its first forecasting tools, and established a loyal client base among municipal and cooperative utilities — laying the foundation for long-term growth.

2003 – 2007Seeds of GrowthThis period marked the planting of new business lines and market opportunities. CES formed Galt Power, entered demand response programs, and pioneered congestion management through FTR analysis. The company scaled revenues, created PowerGREEN through a software acquisition, and built its first Leadership Team. A 24/7 Operations Center was established, ensuring clients had around-the-clock market support.

2008 – 2012Expanding HorizonsCES grew stronger through the financial crisis and relocated to its current Philadelphia headquarters. International opportunities took shape with the first India office in Pune and the launch of a SCADA team for generator operations. Breakthrough platforms emerged, including StorageIQ and CES|BLUE, alongside the launch of the India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA). 1998 – New Beginnings
Founded CES in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, during U.S. energy deregulation. Launched MarketIQ, billing system support for retail suppliers, and utility tariff consulting. Secured first clients and doubled team size.
2000 – Building Systems
Developed SQL Datamart for LMP data and forecasting tool for retailers. Expanded MarketIQ to ISO-NE and NYISO; supported retailer billing implementations.
2001 – Weathering Turbulence
Sustained growth despite Enron collapse and 9/11. Completed tariff and generation consulting; pursued MISO entry.
2002 – Programming Paused
Focused on commercialization (EDI mapping, wholesale price collection). Expanded MarketIQ to municipal and cooperative utilities.

2005 – Successful Scaling
Scaled Congestion Management revenue to $3.6M. Expanded Demand Response portfolio. Advanced energy storage project in NY. Acquired PowerIT (foundation for PowerGREEN).
2006 – Team Building
Formed first Leadership Team and business lines (Demand Response/PowerGREEN/GridBOOST, Consulting, Retail/CES|BLUE, Wholesale, MarketIQ).
2007 – Pathfinders
Hired foundational team across IT, congestion, and operations.
Established 24/7 Market Operations Center.

Opened Pune, India office. Stephen relocated with family for a year. Achieved best performance to date.
2011 – StorageIQ Launch
Expanded India operations. Sustained U.S. growth amid Fukushima turbulence.
Launched StorageIQ platform.
2012 – IESA Launch
Invested in CES|BLUE, GridBOOST, and Demand Response platforms.
